Future Ecologies: Producing Dance Network (FE:PDN) is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and brings together academics and arts professionals to reimagine an inclusive, extended and sustainable ecosystem for dance. Encompassing dance as a broad and diverse practice and academic discipline, the network enables dialogue, exchange and strategic development at a time of significant challenges. PDN will respond to the unprecedented convergence of Brexit and Covid-19, coupled with acute concerns regarding diversity, social justice and climate change that have been exacerbated by economic and political instability and war. In this context, envisioning a new future for producing dance and practice research through an ecological perspective, seems vital. This requires a collective and inclusive approach.
Future Ecologies: Producing Dance Network
The core network comprises academics from six higher education institutions and arts professionals from seven arts organisations. The programme of activities includes Open Forum events designed to include a wide range of participants.
