| (retouching the paintwork, around the audience with black paint and brush)…..(first video sequence including "resistance to the turning")…."we recommend that it’s better to be doing something when you’re being video-ed….look to the side of the camera"…..moving on a radius on orange rope (leaning back on the rope)…small resistance to the turning….just gonna check the manual….
….it’s something I found, can you pass it around (to the audience)….it’s possible that the stripes on my face could be very distracting, let me know if it bothers you and I will remove them….speaking of that sticky tape, I do have it here, it’s called ‘low tak’…it’s expensive but I do recommend it, this is what I used on my face…got some other tapes here…should refer you to the viewers as well….this is parcel tape…a recent discovery is called scotch tape…recommended to me, not disappointed….particular favourite of mine, double-sided….the robust all-purpose gaffa….sticks to anything….on the whole it does not leave a mark….double-sided carpet tape, brutal stuff….so….(sticking wooden pieces to soles of shoes) haven’t tried it with these shoes, what kind of adhesion we’ll get is anybody’s guess…I’m going to start with a little gentle jump so that I’m actually impacting on the adhesive before anything else happens (jumps)…see….that’s serious adhesion (applause)…the shoe imprint…. …..just check out the manual again (goes to sculptural maquette)….I’ve got absolutely nothing to say…I’m not saying anything because anything I would say is of no importance….what we’re looking at is a frame, and if this is an interview situation and frame is frame head and shoulders, remember what the viewer sees – it’s not what I say, it’s how I look, how I say it, that’s what the viewer thinks. What’s he wearing? How does he look? What’s his body language like? What are his shoulders doing? So I’m making a point here by not saying anything. Because I want you to focus on how I’m saying it, and we’ll come back to this tomorrow at 10am, so I’ll see you back here…. ….(speaking into mobile phone via ear-piece) Colin, are you there? No, it’s going very well, I’m in the middle, yah, yah, no, I thought it was her job, good, I feel it’s important, hang on, I’m moving the mike. I was speaking about The Look, Colin, and I’m sure it’s the way to go, and I’m sure you’ll bow to my greater knowledge, this is the look, “think effortless cool mixed with high end fabrics and a bit of rough”, that’s the one, Colin, I’m going for it, got a bit of an upturn, building my business…Is there a dress code?…give them a CRM system….no…bit of an upturn….(music begins) ….I think I said it, just the words, ‘catching the breeze’, just standing and that being enough, and to do that here, it’s enough really (sprays water)….it’s a little Caribbean island called Nevis and I went there a couple of times, by accident in a way, and it’s about the size of the Isle of Wight with a mountain in the middle which you can see from wherever you are on the island, about 3000 feet high….1649…French naturalist….very common creature that, of course, doesn’t exist any more…squeakinge lisards…. When the Europeans first went to the island they couldn’t move for sea turtles…you know what it’s like, you know…(video begins)…(scattering objects, bread rolls etc.)…I got to look at one particular pig a lot…he’s on a rope, you can just about see him…the food he can obviously reach…one of the great fields to be a pig in….space…. ….(assembling objects)….(banging on floor, sitting on floor beside sculptural maquette).…(taping torches to broom)….just wanted to look at a spot in detail….if we could lose all the lights for a second, thank you, I’ll come closer and film here….it’s nothing at all, absolutely nothing, bring up the light now, a spot (spotlight)….how does that look through the camera?…(camera on spot and projected on screen)….that’s more like it, now we’re seeing something…can you hold that one Jonathan?…yeah, I like it hand held….(switches on torches taped to broom, sweeps slowly around the space, black out)….some resistance….(sweeping up objects)….(applause) duration – 50 minutes | ||
