(in alphabetical order&#8230;)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After two phases of\u00a0Artscross I\u00a0attended in\u00a0Taipei in\u00a02011 and\u00a0in\u00a0Beijing in\u00a02o12 so far, an\u00a0important shift took place for\u00a0me at\u00a0the\u00a0auditions for\u00a0this 2013 phase in\u00a0London. I\u00a0had always been highly sensitive to\u00a0the\u00a0discourses that emerged around the\u00a0dancers and\u00a0choreographers, as\u00a0well as\u00a0academics, representing in\u00a0some ways their &#8216;countries&#8217;. Also the\u00a0London-based choreographers are not all British. One of\u00a0the\u00a0Taiwanese dancers is from Hong Kong etc.\u00a0So what happened was that at\u00a0the\u00a0auditions, in\u00a0order for\u00a0the\u00a0choreographers to\u00a0be able to\u00a0choose dancers from each place, they needed to\u00a0work in\u00a0their groups. And\u00a0here the\u00a0terms &#8216;Chinese&#8217;, &#8216;British&#8217; and\u00a0&#8216;Taiwanese&#8217; did not quite work for\u00a0categorisation, and\u00a0the\u00a0groups were simply described as\u00a0the\u00a0&#8216;Beijing group&#8217;, the\u00a0&#8216;Taipei group&#8217; and\u00a0the\u00a0&#8216;London group&#8217;. Moreover, each group is made up of\u00a0course of\u00a0individuals from specific schools and\u00a0with specific training and\u00a0professional dancing backgrounds.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rescen.net\/blog5\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/IMG_0459.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"IMG_0459\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rescen.net\/blog5\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/IMG_0459.jpg?resize=300%2C225&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">London!<\/p>\n<p>Something to\u00a0think about, for\u00a0me, as\u00a0countries propose a\u00a0very different sort of\u00a0identity to\u00a0those of\u00a0cities. I\u00a0am looking forward to\u00a0see the\u00a0works unfold in\u00a0the\u00a0meeting of\u00a0the\u00a0different localities involved. What do Beijing and\u00a0Taipei bring to\u00a0London? And\u00a0what does London offer them?
