\u2018I am grateful of such an initiative by such an important festival as Dance Umbrella. I feel lucky to have been nominated, circumstances always play a role in this kind of things. I feel grateful about a chain of things that led me to collaborate with Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and who eventually so generously nominated me. It feels golden. Not in the sense of a medal, but in the sense of quality\u2026 It feels like I have crossed golden people, golden thoughts, golden moves, golden space and golden hours\u2026 Last, I want to say that it feels so fair to be a mother and to be considered to be among these beautiful things. Thank you Anne Teresa.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n

Georgia Vardarou (Athens 1983) graduated from the State School of Dance (\u039a.\u03a3.\u039f.\u03a4.) (GR) and then from P.A.R.T.S. (BE) with the support of the first scholarship from the Greek State Scholarships Foundation I.K.Y.<\/p>\n

After her graduation in 2008 she started working as a dancer with the choreographer Salva Sanchis. She has been part of all his productions from 2008 until 2012. She has also worked as a dancer with Marc Vanrunxt \/ kunst\/werk, Cecilie Ullerup Schmidt, Lance Gries and Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker \/ Rosas.<\/p>\n

As a choreographer, she first committed to a piece of research on personal movement and the content that this carries. She created the short solo Hardcore Research on Dance<\/em> as an outcome (2011). Then in 2013 she choreographed her first full-length group piece Phenomena<\/em>. Afterwards she joint Rosas (2014-2016). Later in 2016 she created her next group piece New Narratives<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Georgia lived, studied and worked in Brussels for 13 years. In 2017 she moved in the region of Barcelona. There, she is already a frequent resident at La Caldera, Barcelona. Georgia was part of the network [DNA] Departures and Arrivals<\/em> 2013-1018. Her work is produced by kunst\/werk (BE).<\/p>\n
